Trelya Community Café Assistant / Barista
Location: Penzance
Salary: £12.71 per hour
Hours: up to 29 hours per week | Monday–Thursday | No weekends
Contract:Permanent Contract / No Shift Work / No Weekends / Pension

The Community Café at Trelya is a friendly, bright and welcoming space serving Penzance East and beyond.
We are looking for an experienced, friendly individual to join our team in the community café. Our ideal candidate will have experience in a similar café/deli environment, have excellent communication skills and be passionate about community and good food!
We are looking for a creative all-rounder; someone who loves to bake, make coffee, and who is able to work at our deli station preparing fresh salads, toasties, and other menu items.

Skylar Early Years Role
Location: Penzance (with some local travel)
Salary: £25,000 FTE
Hours: Up to 29 hours per week
Tuesday -Friday
Contract: Permanent

We are searching for the right person for this role. You may have experience within teaching, social work, early years or family work. You will be able to build trust and rapport with children and families from hard to reach backgrounds and have a strong belief in the positive impact of effective early intervention and the passion to make a difference to children’s lives.
Trelya (the Cornish word for ‘change’), is an award-winning charity working to enable positive change in West Cornwall’s most under resourced communities. We know from experience that the children, young people and families living in our communities are unique and skilled individuals with incredible potential. Trelya creates opportunities to fulfil that potential through provision of Skylar (rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted), an award-winning youth work and mentoring programme and ‘Gul,’ which is one of Cornwall’s successful trauma informed employment and training programmes.
Trelya is one of only a few projects that works with young people from prebirth through the life course and our outcomes demonstrate this makes a huge difference to ending the cycle of generational poverty and social exclusion. Trelya recognises the critical role early years’ care and education can play in a child’s development and the importance of excellent practitioners. Skylar delivers the best in early years’ care practice from prebirth to 4 years old, to those who need it most and their families, who would simply not be able to access it otherwise.

Administrator (General & Gul)
Location: Penzance
Salary: Up to £26,250 per annum FTE depending on experience, skills and qualifications
Hours: Up to four days a week (30hrs). Possible part time could be considered.
Contract: Fixed term post until 31st March 2026, but likely to continue beyond this date.

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to become an Administrator at Trelya.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an innovative charity, which is leading the way in breaking the cycle of social exclusion. The successful candidate for this role will be an enthusiastic and a highly organised and experienced administrator with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. They will possess a creative mind and the ability to think innovatively to solve problems and operate at a fast pace whilst ensuring accuracy. They will need to be able to demonstrate the ability to take the initiative, work independently, manage changing priorities and work to tight deadlines. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring smooth operations, supporting team members, and maintaining an efficient work environment.

Gul Youth & Family Worker
Location: Penzance, Cornwall
Salary: £27,300 dependent on experience, skills & qualifications.
Hours: 37.5 per week
Contract length: Until 31st March 2026 (may be extended subject to funding)

Behind the images of sun, sea and sand, is one of the most economically deprived counties in the UK; a county where people experience high unemployment, high house prices, low paid, often seasonal work and rural isolation.

To enable children and young people at risk of social exclusion as a result of social and economic deprivation to develop the skills, knowledge, awareness, aspirations and motivation to make positive choices about their lives and their behaviours. We work with some of the “hardest to reach” families in the area.
The Youth & Family Worker will be part of the Gul Skills Development Project – an innovative, intensive project aimed at improving the employability of participants through the development of work-ready skills, confidence, knowledge, aspirations and wrap around support. You will provide a mixture of individual and group interventions to adults aged 18+ aimed at improving the employability of participants through the development of work-ready skills, confidence, knowledge, aspirations and wrap around support.

Childrens Youth & Family Worker

The Children’s, Youth and Family worker will be an integral part of ‘Gallos’, our dynamic Youth and Family Team.

You will be a positive role model developing trusting, reliable and sustainable relationships with children, young people and their families.
