In 2022 Trelya was the lead partner in ‘Bruk Up Stigma’ – an international cross-sector partnership between local mental health services and charities for young people in Nottingham and West Cornwall – Trelya, Nottingham CAMHS Mental Health Support Team and Nottingham CYF Project – with New York dance group Bed-Stuy Veterans/The Eternalz, and film producers We The Conspirators.
- The project brought together young people from across urban and rural locations and used spoken word, urban music and the underrepresented dance form of Bruk Up, to explore mental health through this original audio visual piece.
- One of only two projects selected for funding out of 126 applications, ‘Bruk-Up Stigma’ was made possible by Partner Up, an initiative designed and led by Take Note, The Footwork Trust and Collaborative Change, funding cross-sector arts for social impact collaborations and offering wraparound strategic partnership support.
